Lynnholtz Shepherds are quality German Shepherds descending from dogs of German Working Bloodlines.  We have been breeding these dogs for eleven years in Davis Junction, Illinois.  The foundation of the Lynnholtz breeding stock was Lacy Vom Kuhnhof purchased bred to Agar Z Pohranicni Straze, an East German Import titled as a SchH and police dog.  The breeder Lacy was purchased from was Josef Kuhn who came to the United States from Germany.  We have produced 21 litters of Shepherd puppies to date.

 

 

We recognize the drive that is a part of our German Shepherds and are endeavoring to place some of these dogs into the “jobs” for which they are naturally suited.  Beginning with the “U” litter (born January 21, 2006), we are hand-selecting two pups which display the best temperament and drive for the trainability for police work.  Another breeding will take place sometime in March of 2006 and two more pups will be hand-selected from this litter as well, thus building an inventory of dogs from which to choose.  These pups will be basic obedience trained with emphasis on ball and prey-drive and introduced to basic bite work as pups, as well as some basic tracking.  The goal is to enhance the existing high-drive in our dogs that can be then trained by a department in their own method of training.

 

All our dogs come with a written temperament and health guarantee.

 

I encourage you to consider the following when making your choice for your next German Shepherd purchase:

 

• You will have knowledge of exactly where this dog came from; I am the breeder.
• This dog will be raised in my presence from birth, thus the environment is controlled.
• The dog will come with documentation, including photos of each phase of its basic training, the age it was introduced to the bite sleeve, tracking, etc.
• I have excellent quality control, as I am dealing with a smaller number of dogs that will be hand-chosen from the litters.
• Most suppliers of police department dogs are importers and the dogs are a “product” where these dogs will come from a breeder who knows these dogs.  Other countries that export dogs do not send their best dogs, they keep them for their own police and military.  The Lynnholtz dogs would be the “picks” of the litter, chosen by the person who knows them best – the breeder.
